Let her know that, given the late date of the request regarding anyone alive who may have known her uncle, William K. Hall, she should contact the U.S. Naval Historical Center, Operational Archives Branch (two Microfilm rolls of USS Belleau Wood --NRS/01143-NRS-1980-85,1946). These records can be sent to her local library. These records contain the official daily log and after-action reports, including, most likely, the report of her uncle's death on October 30, 1945.
